100 bottles of branded liquor, distillery items seized

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police have arrested five outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 100 bottles of branded liquor, distillery items, hashish and stolen items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.

On a tip off, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police raided a house in Sector G-13/1 and arrested Yaqub Masih, son of Rehmat Masih, and Aamir, son of Jehangir, resident of Chak No. 59/MD, Khushab, for preparing liquor in the basement of the house. CIA Police also recovered 100 bottles of liquor and distillery items from the house and further investigation is underway from them.

CIA Deputy Superintendent of Police Zubair Shaikh, when contacted by this correspondent, said that the authorities gave him task to launch campaign against the liquor dealers active in federal capital. He said that he received information that a racket was running liquor business in a house (40, Street-80) in Sector G-13/1 and supplying branded liquor to hotels and guest house as well as individuals. DSP said that a team was constituted which conducted raid on the den and recovered 100 bottles of branded liquor. He said that Sky Vodka (11 bottles), Smirnoff (25), White & Makkay (32), Jack Damel (22), Black Dog (9) and one bottle of Beef Herter were recovered.

Meanwhile, the Tarnol Police arrested Azmat Muneer and recovered stolen CNG kit of vehicle from him. While Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali and ASI Muhammad Nawaz from Bhara Kahu Police Station nabbed Nadeem and Aslam besides recovering 500 grams of hashish and 30-bore pistol from them respectively.Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
