A Dangling Participle
Hello fellow Mountain Taker. The Lord has just taken me through a rapid series of experiences filled with unexpected emotion and spiritual power. As I have been relating them to Mountain Takers close to me I've been urged to not keep them to myself. So, in the next three installments of this blog I am going relate them and the lessons learned to you. These experiences all happened in just two days and as I discovered they had both seen and unseen dimensions. I hope you will be encouraged by them as we have been.

Experience #1 – A Dangling Participle
Those of you who have been walking with us on this journey for a while are aware that three and a half years ago my wife, Susi, and I gave up the life that had defined us for over 30 years to follow the Lord's call into new and uncharted territory. To do that meant turning the church we had pastored for the last 22 years over to a new team, which we did in May 2009.

One of the many kindnesses extended to us by the church leadership was the continued use of my office at the church, "Until such time as it's needed." To be honest, other than a time to time place for prayer, the primary function of this office since 2009 has been storage both for me and progressively for the church. My home office is where I work from now.

Given this reality, when word came this last weekend the space was now needed by the church staff one would've thought such news should be of no consequence. "Okay, time to move." What I wasn't prepared for was the emotion the idea of that move triggered in me. It took me the better part of a day to process and come to terms with it.

As I got ready the next day to begin sorting through what to leave and what to bring home the Lord spoke this phrase to me, "A dangling participle". Grammar has never been my favorite or best subject. And I don't truly even know what a "dangling participle" is, except that the sense I got from the Lord was that for me right then it represented an unfinished or incomplete something that was now being completed.

As I continued to work through my old files I began to see that even though Susi and I had truly left the Office of Pastor behind in 2009, somehow the office space still had an unseen hold on me.

The best way I know to relate this is to use the illustration of soul ties. Usually when we use that term we're thinking of something negative, i.e. an ungodly soul tie. Soul ties are most often associated with relationships between people. What the Lord taught me in this experience is that we can also have soul ties to places, and soul ties do not need to be negative. My office at church was a very positive and powerful place for me for many years. My "dangling participle" however was that tie. As soon as I saw what it was I broke it and new freedom flooded my soul!

As I have been sharing this event I have discovered my experience is not unique to me. Many people entering retirement, or leaving a position, [or home] they've been in a long time can face similar inexplicable feelings. It's good to know that even the space we work in can over time have an unseen hold on us. How good it is to know that Father wants to set us free as He moves us on.

Advancing the Kingdom and Psalm 141

Psalm 141 reads as follows from the New King James version of the Bible:

Lord, I cry out to You;
Make haste to me!

Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.

2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.

4 Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice wicked works
With men who work iniquity;
And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

5 Let the righteous strike me;
It shall be a kindness.
And let him rebuke me;
It shall be as excellent oil;
Let my head not refuse it.
For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.

6 Their judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff,
And they hear my words, for they are sweet.

7 Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave,
As when one plows and breaks up the earth.

8 But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord;
In You I take refuge;
Do not leave my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,
And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I escape safely.

It says in the gospels, "seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you."
This psalm relates to both the individual who is addressed in this verse in the gospels and this individual, these individuals activities and focus as relating to the global, world view of the Kingdom of God. The advancement is towards seeking the Kingdom and the righteousness of the Lord and for this all necessary provisions will be given in support of this.

While, when there can be prosperous overtones to the section where it says, "all these things shall be added unto you" there might also be unexpected overtones.
As with everything else, you don't know quite what to expect, and the same might go with the activities of the Lord behalf of you and what "all these things" might be, and how and when they might be added to you
You don't always quite know even what you need, what to prioritize and what is more so important and less so important.

The Lord will surprise you within what is added and some good portion of what is added is going to be unexpected in many respects, but noticeably it might be sent in a fashion that is tied into some specific work you have just done on behalf of the advancement of the Kingdom.
A central verse in this psalm is verse 5 where David refers to the in person appearance of the correction of the righteous man, as a favor from the Lord to help keep the focus and activity on the ways of the Lord and the kingdom.

Verse 5 says
Let the righteous strike me;
It shall be a kindness.
And let him rebuke me;
It shall be as excellent oil;For
Let my head not refuse it.

For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicke
David is praying against the deeds of the wicked.

Individuals today try and forge a connection or alliances with those that might be well heeled financially, have access to deep markets, and have great political influence, church influence, nationalistic influence.
If I am one of these individuals, that is forging a relationship with the powers that be, this can benefit me as well, if I am short say in some area such as finances I can possibly gain access to funds through these cultivated relationships with friends in high places.

Because I have this relationship, those that are enemies of whom I am aligning myself with, become in indirect fashion an enemy of my interests as well.
Those who go against the interests of my now forged alliances, friendships, relationships, might not be directly against me, but because they are going against the person, persons, organization and so on with whom I have established beneficial ties, they are indirectly working against my interests as well although they are not directly in my path as an enemy.

The enemies that David is speaking of, in this psalm, might have been direct enemies of his, but they might not have been.
It might have been that the enemies spoken of in this psalm had no direct contact with David, and where some where out there, in the distance and not at all involved with any interruptions of David's affairs.
David however had that closely cultivated relationship with the Lord, a relationship where he was seeking first in many cases the Kingdom and the righteousness of the Kingdom and David saw that the Lord was correspondingly adding blessing upon blessing to him personally.

It was not that David was a person one hundred percent seeking the Kingdom and aligned with the principles of the Kingdom but he was mostly there and mostly focused on the Lord, with some intermittent shortfalls in the process of his purposes of seeking and advancing the Kingdom of the Lord.

Verse one and two of this psalm highlight the closeness of this relationship where David is asking that his prayers continue to appear in the very presence of the Lord as incense, still rising about, through and above all the chaos, uncertainty, ambiguity and mixtures of darkness and light that prevailed on the ground level of what he had been experiencing and what was actually out there.

Lord, I cry out to You;
Make haste to me!
Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.
2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

David's personal prayer, the prayers arising from his own hands, lifted from him all the way to the presence of the Lord were counted as rising incense all the way to the heavens and this vision of David's prayers also highlights the important and centrality of prayer in seeking first the Kingdom and the righteousness.

David fear is that some of the evil out there, which he describes as being ultimately a trap, could contain elements of temptation to him, that maybe even he could be tempted to go on a visit to the dark side and then he would begin to lose his position before the Lord, highlighted by his prayer position where his prayers were still being counted as incense and his wish was that it would remain this way.

But despite the continuing presence of personal enemies and temptations, enemies that potentially could come in droves with the high positions that David occupied in a partially secular or worldly sense, it also could have been that these enemies had no ax to grind with David personally but were still engaged in activities that were against the interests of the Lord and the Kingdom of the Lord, but did not amount to anything that had to do with David's activities.

Thereby, their deeds, what they were doing, was something that David would pray against, even though these deeds afar might not have been and in many cases were unlikely to have been directly at David personally and basically did not affect him
David had ready access to the Lord; the Lord would hear his voice and hastily respond to it.
In today's who you know, having friends in high places, can be very beneficial to you personally.
And those who are opposed to your friend in high places indirectly are conceived as opposing you and your interest because of what your friends in high places do for you, or might yet do for you.

Those who threatened the ways of the Lord and his Kingdom, were also perceived as indirectly against David's interests due to David's closeness to the Lord, even though he was thriving and in many cases untouched by their mischievous wicked deeds.

For example, robbers might have been robbing others, and getting away with it, but they were not robbing David yet this injustice was against the Kingdom of the Lord because David was aligned with the advancement of the Kingdom of the Lord, this behavior was considered enemy behavior.
Enemies of the Lord and the Kingdom were by proxy also enemies for David whether they were anywhere near him or not.

If and when David strayed, and there were points where he did stray, he then turned around and redirected his aim to the seeking of the Lord and the kingdom of the Lord and he never really reached the point of no return, the subject of a song from the modern day group Kansas.
What the Lord added to him personally was so lavish that he couldn't even get to all of it and David knew and acknowledged that these lavish graces and added benefits were from the Lord and the ways of righteousness and kingdom advancing.

It wasn't necessarily that David was pursing that Lord out of sheer duty; it was closer what might be described as a love affair, in that passion was present highlight in other psalms by the longing David felt when the Lord was seemingly absent or that felt closeness was in so ways being compromised and threatened.
If even an everyday friendship is threatened, this is a big deal.
This relationship, friendship, put him up front and center with the Lord, in that inner circle with the Lord who was for him the friend in high places.

Although David eventually was "the King" of the land he recognizes that it isn't his kingdom per se, it is the Kingdom of the Lord that he is concerned with, and concerned with, seeking, advancing and defending and he maintains this world view, big picture view, global view of seeking the kingdom of the Lord and his righteousness, well aware of all that already had been added derived from this vital, all important relationship he had cultivated and for the most part maintained with the Lord

With seeking first the advancement of the interests of the Kingdom of the Lord, in the here and now, other things will be added to us and there is no need to revolt against these things, even though they might be at times more than we can seemingly handle
These might be amazing and unexpected things.
John's gospel chapter 1 verses 48 through 50, says,
48 "How do you know me?" Nathanael asked.
Jesus answered, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you."
49 Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel."
50 Jesus said, "You believe[h] because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.
Nathaniel was amazed that Jesus saw him under the tree and took note of his conversation there from miles away, and Jesus response it aht you will see even greater things.

Greater things would be added for Nathaniel and they would have to be at times in the unexpected range.
Give Nathaniel credit here, some might not have been able to handle the presence of the new thing, that was so amazing and unfamiliar, yet Nathaniel tapped into the wells of the moment perfectly, with acknowledgement and attention and he did receive the grace thereby present in that moment.

As the Lord adds things, acknowledge these new additions of grace, handle the graces with grace and see that the things the Lrod is adding are to be understood as befitting you and your present day circumstances, even though these additions of grace might seem very unfamiliar to outright bizarre to what you know.
If a well heeled friend gives you a yacht for doing a little research for his or her frim, and you think this is a big lavish and overdoing it, adjust to the gift and take the gift.

In the same way the Lord's gifts might seem outlandish in relation to the little work you do in the advancement of the kingdom, but accept the outsized graces with thanksgiving.
Nathaniel's job was to recognize and continue to see the Lord and his kingdom as an individual and proceed from this moment of grace ready for the next round of things the Lord would be doing for him or through him as per graces

David, finalized this psalm with verse 10 which says,
Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I escape safely.
The activities of the wicked, which amount to the antithesis of the advancing kingdom, can result in trappings that are like a prison, for which David which to escape outright and totally avoid.
The ways of the Kingdom as they advance always involve freedom and more freedom and escape from what otherwise would be a trap.

You don't always know what you have escaped, because you did escape and didn't get caught,
The hiker might have passed the menacing bear, unbeknownst to him or her, not to pick on bears.
You look at people who are immersed in substance abuse, and maybe introduced to it by some wicked person, and how much free and easier things would have otherwise had been for them had they avoided this outright.

Wherever, however, whenever you are walking about free and easy, it good to reflect on this also as traps avoided and this is from the grace and goodness of the Lord according to this psalm, escape is a blessing and grace from the Lord.

This also highlights the specific grace of escape and that we can and should as David does here in this psalm, thank the Lord for the graces of escape and ask for additional graces of escape as we going along in seeking to follow the paths of goodness and righteousness in the advancement of the Kingdom in the here and now.

From Gethsemane to Arimathea [part 13] Kriyah _renting of cloth

On the hill, only the breeze moved. It fluttered through the women's veils while, silently, huddled together, they wept. It is there, on the escarpment, huddled together, that Yacov, Yosei, Yehudah and Shimon found their womenfolk, as they returned from their own vantage point.

The brothers, being men, had been allowed to stand watch closer to the Taw but, as Jews abiding by Yaweh's ruling that the energies of dark suffering and death are impure, they, too, had not approached the cross. As on Golgotha, they could only observe from a distance.

The brothers helped the women to their feet. The family had to get back on the trail that lead to ramparts of Jerusalem a couple of kilometers away. They needed to pass through the Huldah gate before it closed for the twenty-four hour duration of the Shabbath.

Though the men were more than able to keep themselves safe in or out of the fortified city, they would never allow their women to risk becoming prey to the watchmen who roamed from dusk to dawn.

The moment of kriyah is the moment of rending one's clothes as symbol of the heart being rendered by grief, at a loved one's passing.

"Now is the time to tear kriyah," said Myriam Magdalene, hand over heart. Her words jolted Myriam back to the grotesque reality of the present moment. Her first-born had expired, murdered, after hours of suffering from the blows and cuts of the flagrum and from the ignominious atrocity of death on the Taw! So absurd and incomprehensible it was that her mind had lagged behind the reality of what had come to pass below the escarpment, in the orchard of the merchant of Arimathea. Yes, she thought, she's right. It's time for kriyah.

Shimon put his arms around his mother's shoulders. She let herself fall back against his chest for a brief moment. Then, unequivocally, she slipped her son's dagger off his belt. As if testing its sharpness, she ran the ball of her thumb across the tip of the blade. A carmine drop beaded and welled followed by another. Along the first knuckle of her thumb, they ran. Surrendering briefly again to the private world of her thoughts, Myriam watched the irregular dot of red cast against the dusty grey of the soil on which she stood before lifting her eyes to the pale shape of her son on the other side of the leafy barrier of branches. She sighed and, into that sigh, her shoulders slumped. Yet, she knew that it was not her place to question her God's will. It was not anyone's place. And so, with the last shred of strength she was able to summon, she intoned,"Baruch atah Adonai" Her voice rose. "Eloheinu Melech HaOlam Dayan HaEmet." With the point of the dagger, Myriam, mother of yeshua, rendered her robe at the place where it shielded her heart.

One after the other, her daughter-in-law, her daughter and each of her surviving sons rent their robe. Gravely and clearly, they addressed their God, as Myriam had. "Blessed are You, God," they spoke, "our God, King of the World, the true judge."

Yacov, Yosei, Yehudah and Shimon untethered the donkeys that had brought them thus far. Hearts heavy with thoughts, they patted the undemanding beasts on the withers and flanks, as they always did before mounting them. The panniers still contained the produce bought at the market earlier that day. They adjusted the strap that kept them secure over the beasts' back and, with the burial grounds at their back, they turned the donkeys towards the Huldah gate through which they would enter Jerusalem.

With not a word exchanged, Yacov took the lead with Yosei. They spurred their mounts into a rib-rattling trot. The women's donkeys followed as they always did. Yehudah and Shimon bracketed their womenfolk from the rear. As fast as their mounts carried them, the group regained the pilgrims' tent grounds.

Once inside the grounds, they would push their grief aside because the Torah demanded that no sadness, no grief be indulged during Shabbath, the twenty-four hours of every week during which Jewish hearts and spirits were commanded to have no other focus than a reflection on the teachings of their one God and the ramifications and applications of these teachings to their daily lives.

Revelation 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
The Antichrist Dragon Beast Will Lead Into Captivity

Judges 5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
The Bible's Barak Also Leads Into Captivity

Exodus 12:29-30 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that [was] in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for [there was] not a house where [there was] not one dead.

Pharaoh Of Egypt Also Held In Captivity Until God Sent Moses To Deliver Them (Rapture)

2 Corinthians 11:14 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him].

The Bible Describes Satan As An Angel Of Light.
Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Jesus Christ Said That Satan The Devil Is Lightning Falling From Heaven.

Isaiah 14:12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

The Bible Says That Satan is Lucifer Fallen From Heaven's Heights (Psalm 148:1).
So Satan (Lucifer) Is A Lightning Angel Of Light "Fallen" From Heaven.

Judges 4:15 And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all [his] chariots, and all [his] host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off [his] chariot, and fled away on his feet.

Notice How The Bible's "Barak" Is Associated With "Light".

II) Satan Will Posess The Beast As America Burns And The Great Tribulation Begins
As Babylon And America Falls (With Fire-Like Sodom) Satan (The Egyptian Pharaoh Beast) Will Fall To The Earth (Posessing) The Antichrist. The Forty Two Month (Great Tribulation)Time Of Trouble Will Begin. Read The Below Scriptures For Support:

Revelation 11:4-8 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Notice The Beast And Egypt (Egyptian Pharaoh Ezekiel 29:3). Notice Sodom And the Fire (Destruction Of The Nation-Genesis 19:1-30).
Revelation 17:1-16 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom.

The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Notice How Babylon The Great (Disobedient Christians, Those Who Rejected Jesus Christ, And America) Is Burned With Fire.

Revelation 18:1-2 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Notice How This Angel Of Light (Lightning) "Comes Down" From Heaven As Babylon (America) Falls (Burns-Revelation 17:16). Read The Above Section On Lucifer The Fallen Angel Of Light (Lightning).

Revelation 12:8-17 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them.

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man [child]. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
