Charity is the way to open the different gates of bringing development in the lives of various people. Charity is like a blessing to the needy people as it helps them access the various facilities that are important to survive. The people who are in need of charity are inhabitants of poor as well as backward class who are living tough life.
There is a huge population that lives below poverty line in India. Most of them either sell books on traffic signals or are street beggars. Many of them are often found to be a mason working throughout the whole day and earning a little amount of money. They are deprived of the love, affection and financial support which they need the most. In India there are many organizations which are working for providing mental, moral and financial support to these poor children and people. FTS is one such organization working for upliftment of rural and tribal group of people with promoting charity in India.
About FTS
FTS stands for Friends of Tribal Society. This is an organization which was founded and established on 15th January 1989 under the Act of Societies Registration of West Bengal. This act was amended in the year 1961. FTS is a non-profit seeking organization. FTS was founded by group of prominent social activists, whose aim was to bring rural development. The aim of the organization was to improve socio-economic condition as well as bring them upward from the deprived hindered community. The founders made an agenda to bring the rural and tribal community to the light of education with the rural schools.
Aim of FTS
The aim of FTS was to bring prosperity and development to the deprived and backward communities of India. This society was well aware that the deprived communities are economically and politically exploited. FTS knew it very well that only education can bring these people up in the society. Only education can give them what they really deserve. Education empowers people, brings a sense of fraternity and confidence. In 1989 FTS started Ekal Vidyalaya Yogna which was a donation education program. The main aim of this Yogna was to eradicate illiteracy from the tribal and rural communities. This project was first started in Jharkhand and slowly gradually spread across 36263 villages. FTS along with the sister organizations has provided the light of education to more than 897,178 rural and tribal children.
The organization also focuses in the following areas:
• Social Bond Development
• Education on Health Care
• Education on Service of First-Aid
• Development Education that includes training for natural farming zero cost and other vocations
• Awareness on Welfare Projects
FTS has been working for last two decades to bring the VANVASI community to a level where they can live their lives with happiness and joy. There are more than 8 crores of janajatis residing throughout India. Their density is highly found in Rajasthan, Gujarat Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, and complete North East. FTS started promoting the need of providing education and basic amenities to these communities. They started their work from the most backward areas. FTS has achieved its target by donate to NGO program, because their promotion has led the common people to come forward and take part in this noble journey.
