LAHORE: Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Allama Tahirul Qadri on Sunday warned both the federal and Punjab governments against stopping his long march on Islamabad.
“If there was any attempt to halt the long march, two million participants will march on Islamabad and two million will march on Lahore,” he said while addressing a press conference here.
Qadri also warned the Punjab government against harassing his party workers.“The situation may go out of control if the government tried to create hurdles in the way of the long march,” he maintained.
“We want to change system through elections, not (political) parties,” he said and added that it would be decided on Jan 14 in Islamabad whether the looters would rule the country or those who were being looted.
He said that the nation was deprived of the basic facilities of life and the sovereignty of the country was at stake. Qadri said that he would not accept any house arrest, adding that wrong things are being related to him.
“I want to remind PPP workers of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s slogan of Roti, Kapra aur Makaan. Nobody has yet got these things,” he added.Qadri said his door was open for dialogue and he would talk to Interior Minister Rehman Malik if he visited him.
