Local JUI-F leader among three killed


DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was killed along with two other persons and four more people sustained injuries in a firing incident in Darazinda in the Frontier Region (FR) Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday, local sources said.

The sources said that a jirga was taking place at a hotel in Darazinda bazaar when one Ajmal Shah and his nephew allegedly opened fire killing three persons and injuring four others.

JUI-F leader Sahibzada Abdus Salam and Pir Shah Sherani were killed on the spot while Haji Spin Shah Sherani succumbed to his injuries at the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. The injured included Wadan Shah, Ghulam Haider Sherani and Faizullah while the name of the fourth wounded person couldn’t be known. It was learnt that the accused had a blood-feud with Pir Shah Sherani, who was present at the jirga and was the apparent target of the firing.
