ISLAMABAD: The 85th birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was celebrated on Saturday with the commitment to continue his mission of serving the down-trodden and neglected segment of society.
On this occasion, cake cutting ceremonies were organised by various wings of the PPP across the country.
Different programmes, including seminars and workers conventions, were held in different parts of the country to pay tributes to the meritorious services of the late Quaid-e-Awam.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday visited the mausoleum of Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.—APP
Our correspondent adds: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) paid rich tributes to the party’s founder chairman, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on the occasion of his 85th birth anniversary observed in Hyderabad on Saturday.
A major event held at the District Council Park was chaired by Sindh Fisheries Minister Zahid Bhurgari.
The ceremony started by cutting of a cake.
Bhurgari, in his speech, eulogized the sacrifice of Z A Bhutto for the great cause, saying he always fought against dictators to protect democracy.
Commending the struggle of Bhutto and his introducing democracy in the country through mass mobilization, the minister appealed to the party activists to continue their struggle for strengthening democracy.
