The State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) presented a cheque of Rs1 million to the father of Owais Baig.
A SLIC statement said the cheque was presented at a ceremony held on Monday at the SLIC’s Principal Office here.
It said that SLIC had fulfilled its promise and handed over the cheque of Rs1 million to the father of the victim who died by falling from the State Life’s Building No 11.
The statement said the Principal Office, Chairman State Life, Shahid Aziz Siddiqui, said this compensation could not match the value of a human life. He sanctioned a scholarship for the victim’s sister and on the request from the bereaved family, he promised to consider a job for the victim’s brother as per rules.
The victim’s father, Abdur Rasheed Baig, praised the initiatives taken by the State Life and prayed for the success of the corporation.
