Shahbaz hopeful of PML-N’s win in polls

LAHORE

CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the general elections are near and we are sure that people will elect the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidates through their votes.

He was talking to members of a UK Parliamentary delegation at a luncheon here on Monday.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that during his exile he used to go to the House of Commons and a number of faces in the British delegation were familiar to him.

While introducing former Member British Parliament Ch Sarwar, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said now he was on our side, upon which, the British delegation said that he was on both sides.

Talking about Metro Bus Project, Shahbaz said to the British delegation that when the members they would come again to Lahore, their visit would be conducted through the Metro Bus.

Senator Ishaq Dar said that if the people reposed confidence in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in general elections, Shahbaz would be made the Federal Minister for Water & Power.

Head of the British delegation Sir Malcolm Bruce said that Shahbaz Sharif was rendering marvellous services for the reforms in education sector and the Punjab government’s programme for promotion of education was a role model for the whole country.

Head of the British delegation Sir Malcolm Bruce said that cooperation with the Punjab government in education sector would continue.

During the luncheon, the electricity was shut down suddenly and there was darkness in the hall, upon which the chief minister said, “This is a gift from the federal government.”

Peshawar blast: Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the bomb attack on police van near Shahabkhail Police Post in Peshawar.

He expressed grief over the loss of lives.

In a condolence message on Monday, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif prayed Allah might rest the departed souls of police officials who embraced martyrdom in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss.

British delegates: District Coordination Officer, Lahore, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal along with a seven-member delegation of the British Parliament on Monday visited Sootar Mill School located at Manawan.

The district coordination officer briefed the delegation about facilities being provided in the school.

The district coordination officer said he was working hard to take Lahore district at first position as far as education was concerned.

Adam Thomas, head of the British delegation, showed his satisfaction over the facilities and appreciated the Punjab government for its matchless focus on education.

Thomas assured the district coordination officer that the British government would carry on its cooperation with Punjab government in education field.
