QUETTA: Balochistan doctors’ strike in the government and private hospitals here continues unabated, while although belatedly, the provincial government has made some special arrangements for providing medical aid at CMH Cantt to the patients here, who were left to suffer for quite sometime, Geo News reported.
The government’s failure to recover the abducted eye specialist, Dr. Saeed Khan, which had triggered the strike, further intensified after the protesting doctors’ rally was subjected to teargas shelling and arrests of scores of doctors.
Meanwhile, the OPDs, operation theaters and emergency services in the hospitals have still remained closed causing enormous problems to the suffering patients with practically no medical assistance available anywhere in the province.
The patients have demanded that if the government cannot recover the abducted Dr. Saeed Khan and get the strike end, then some alternative arrangements be immediately made for providing medical assistance to them.
The provincial government though belatedly has made some arrangements for the treatment of patients at CMH Cantt besides making more proactive Lady Dufferin and Mission hospitals working under the auspicious of private and welfare NGOs.
CMH sources said that all resources are being employed for providing medical aid to the patients.
