NOWSHERA: The employees of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) here Monday staged protest against the police torture on a lineman.
They said the police arrested the lineman and put him in wrongful confinement after unknown persons stole the transformer of the Akbarpura Camp. They alleged that the Pesco employee was tortured by the cops.
The Pesco employees led by their divisional chairman Pervaiz Khan staged protest outside the office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Nowshera and blocked the Cherat road for two hours.
The protesters demanded removal of the Station House Officer Kamran Khan within a week. They said that Pesco employees of the Khyber Circle would stage strike if the SHO was not removed till Monday.
