The Rawalpindi-Karachi long march of Jamaat Ahle Sunnat (JAS) against the US blasphemous movie reached Lahore on Friday evening amidst rousing welcome to the participants given by the workers of various religious parties affiliated with Barelvi school of thought at Shahdara and Nasir Bagh.

The long march began from Rawalpindi on Thursday. Led by JAS ameer Riaz Hussain Shah and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Fazal Kareem and comprising hundreds of vehicles including buses, trucks, jeeps and cars, it traveled for 30 hours before reaching Lahore in its first leg.

Addressing a big gathering of charged and slogan-chanting workers at Nasir Bagh, Riaz Hussain Shah reiterated the demands of the marchers, including the demand for severing ties with the US unless the movie makers were punished under Islamic laws and pressing the UN for global legislation against blasphemy.
