Indian
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh on Wednesday said it was
heartening to see religious freedom of minorities and the security of
their Gurdwaras and evacuee trust property in Pakistan.
According to a press statement issued here, he was talking to the media on his visit to the Gurdawara Dera Sahab.
Punjab Evacuee Property Trust Board chairman Syed Asif Hashmi had ordered a special welcome for the deputy chief minister.
Singh
said that the love he had received in Lahore would go a long way in
bettering bilateral relationships between both countries. He said if
both Indian and Pakistani Punjab joined hands they could compete with
any province or state in the world on economic and trade fronts. He
lauded the measures taken by the ETPB chairman in this regard.
Meanwhile,
Sukhbir Singh Badal and his delegation visited Lahore Fort, Badshahi
Mosque, Gurdwara Dera Sahib and Samadhi Ranjeet Singh here on Wednesday.
When Deputy Chief Minister of Indian Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal and his
delegation reached these historical places, they were received by
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri.
Sukhbir Singh Badal and Indian delegation highly appreciated the beauty
of Shishmahal. The Indian delegation was also conducted on a tour of
Badshahi mosque.
