Hundreds attend funeral for Chinese Tableeghi Jamaat member

NOWSHERA: A Chinese national who had come to Pakistan along with five colleagues as member of a Tableeghi Jamaat passed away on Friday due to cardiac arrest at a mosque in Kandaro village located on the Mardan-Nowshera Road.

Sources said that 40-year old Muhammad Abdullah attended the Ijtima (congregation) organised at Raiwind, Lahore, in the first week of November and his group was deputed in Nowshera on preaching mission for 40 days. He along with his colleagues was staying in Nowshera for the last 15 days. He first stayed in the Sawal Mosque in the Nowshera Kalan area a few days ago and then moved to the Kandaro village.

He suffered cardiac arrest early in the day in the village mosque and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera where doctors pronounced him dead.

His fellow Chinese in the group contacted his family comprising his wife and two children, sources said. After seeking his wife’s permission, his funeral was arranged in Kandaro and he was buried at the local cemetery.

A large number of people in Nowshera and from the adjoining districts of Mardan, Swabi and Peshawar attended the funeral. His funeral was also attended by the Raiwind Shura members who prayed for the dedicated Tableeghi preachers.
