ACE DG’s comments sought in contempt case

LAHORE

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain on Monday sought comments from the director general of the Anti-Corruption Lahore by November 13 (today) on a contempt petition.

Hafeez Masud contended in his petition that accused Raja Abass Ali was allegedly running a phony NGO and minting millions of rupees from general public in the name of sending them abroad.

He said that the accused had made a website tagging snaps of a school claiming that he was running a school for providing free education to the needy.

He told the court that, on October 10, he had submitted an application before Anti Corruption Establishment seeking legal action against the accused but the ACE had done nothing.

Later, he contacted the same court which had given directions to initiate legal action against the accused but the Anti Corruption did nothing.

He appealed to the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the Anti Corruption Establishment.

On this, the court sought comments from DG Anti-Corruption.
