LAHORE: Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said the Punjab government of PML-N has not stopped any political party from holding any public meeting or protest , as the rival political parties have arranged processions, meetings and rallies in the province according to their heart’s content. He said the Punjab government had provided protection to every public meeting and rally and never shirked from its responsibilities in this regard.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid totally rejected the allegation of Tahir-ul-Qadri that the Punjab government was impounding vehicles to stop his long march. He said that Tahir-ul-Qadri was levelling such allegations only for the fear of the failure of the long march, and even the workers of Tahreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran were surprised at the summersaults he had taken since the public meeting on December 23.
He said that only a few days ago, Tahir-ul-Qadri held a meeting in Lahore on December 23 for which the Punjab government had made extraordinary security arrangements. He said that portraits of Tahir-ul-Qadri were hanging at every tree and electricity pole of the province which was a proof of the fact that the Punjab government did not believe in stopping any political party from holding of public meetings or rallies in the province.
