Number of registered EOBI workers rises

KARACHI: The number of registered workers/employees with the Employees old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has been raised over 5 million across the country, Javed Iqbal, director general of (operations), said.

During a performance review meeting at EOBI’s head office Karachi on Tuesday, he said that during the month of November 2012, the institution disbursed Rs1,093 million among 456,998 EOBI pensioners, which include 293,921 old-age, 7,621 disabled, 133,140 survivor pensioners, and 212 old age grant holders.
