MQM denies its men running Qadri’s media wing

ISLAMABAD: There seems to be many brains behind Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri’s brain as the Minhaj-ul-Quran’s offices have been taken over by ‘specialists’ with media wing being run by MQM.

MQM has deployed its media managers at various offices of Minhaj-ul-Quran especially at the headquarters in Lahore, to properly ‘manage things’, reliable sources in Lahore have confirmed to The News.

It has also been cross-checked and has been verified from the headquarters of Minhaj-ul-Quran that the media offices have been taken over by MQM’s gurus from Karachi.

However Wasay Jalil, the spokesman of MQM denied having deployed any of MQM’s teams at Minhaj’s offices.

While talking to The News, Jalil said MQM would ask its members to help Dr Qadri but from January 7 onwards and not before that. “So far we have not deployed any of our teams for Minhaj’s help”, Jalil said.

He mentioned that MQM was a liberal and progressive party while Dr Qadri was not an extremist therefore there was no harm in alliance of both. He said that not only Dr Qadri’s agenda but also his timing was appropriate and one can expect that a neutral caretaker setup can bring the required changes as demanded by Dr Qadri.

Reliable sources in Lahore said that MQM’s media teams have taken over the offices of Minhaj-ul-Quran and were dealing with the media people because Minhaj’s team were not capable of doing so. The Minhaj people have been strictly ordered by their chief, Dr Qadri, to provide all support and help to the MQM guests so that his show is not underrated and criticized on media, the sources added.

This correspondent, to cross check, called the media office of Minhaj-ul-Quran through the operator on 042-35169111, and the person from media office turned out to be of MQM’s media team from Karachi.

Mr X (name withheld), who was dealing on the behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran, is actually a media manager of MQM and this correspondent had been talking to him regarding MQM’s affairs in Karachi. Upon listening to this correspondent’s name, Mr X, introduced him what actually he was and told that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had requested MQM for support because his people were unable to manage things.

“So we have come here to properly manage the things”, MQM’s specialist at Minhaj’s headquarters in Lahore said.
