ISLAMABAD: Dense fog has covered the twin cities causing the airport to shut down however, Islamabad-Lahore Motorway has now been opened after remaining closed for five hours, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Islamabad Airport was closed for flights at 10 pm on Tuesday night due to thick fog in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Eleven international flights were shifted to Lahore Airport while domestic flights arriving from different cities were cancelled. Other flights are also facing delays and cancellations due to the same reason.
The CAA sources told that the airports will resume operation as soon as the fog will subside.
