Mercury dropped to freezing point

Islamabad: The federal capital got freezing temperature early Sunday with minimum temperature recorded 0 degree centigrade, said Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).A private television channel reported that Islamabad airport was closed due to heavy fog. The resident of federal capital witnessed the lowest temperature for the first time in the current winter season and weather condition will remain cold, dry and foggy during next 24 hours.Dense foggy conditions would continue over plains of Punjab, Peshawar and Sukkur divisions, the MET office forecast.
