Heavy fog forces closure of Motorway

LAHORE: The Motorway has been closed from Lahore to Balaksar interchange and Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad interchange due to poor visibility as thick fog continued to cover parts of Punjab, Geo News reported.

The Motorway Police said that the highway had been closed as visibility level dropped to zero. They said that the vehicular traffic was diverted to the Grand Truck (GT) road via Chakwal interchange.

The police urged drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. They also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary traveling.

Severe cold weather has been gripping parts of Punjab with dense fog and also causing problems for travelers for a week.
