Shan Khusro to be indicted on 17th

LAHORE

An additional district and sessions court on Monday adjourned proceedings until December 17 for framing charges on accused Shan Khusro, son of additional federal secretary and former Commissioner Lahore Pervaiz Khusro allegedly involved in murder of his class fellow Hamza Elahi.

According to the FIR registered by Fazal Elahi, father of deceased Hamza, with Barqi Police under Section 302 against Shan Khusro, Hamza left the home after making a phone call to Shan. After that, he received a phone call that his son had been gunned down in DHA, Phase VI.

Shan had stated before the police that he had shot and killed Hamza accidentally. He told the police that he and Hamza had gone out on the night of June 2 to Defence for a drive and for aerial firing, adding that he had got an unlicensed gun from a personal contact in Farooqabad.

Shan said that while he was trying to remove a bullet from the gun, it accidentally went off and a bullet hit Hamza.

Hamza was driving the car and was on the phone at the time.

summoned: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday summoned the chairman State Life Corporation of Pakistan on dispute of recovery of some monetary claims.

The bench, comprising Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh and Justice Aminuddin Khan, summoned the chairman on an appeal moved by the State Life Corporation, challenging an earlier order of the court.

As the bench resumed hearing, it was informed that the corporation had not complied with the court orders despite the lapse of a long time.

The appellant corporation, through Rana Waqas Latif advocate, said that an amount of Rs339,542 was a matter of dispute between the corporation and Haji Bashart and therefore, a new commission should be formed to record fresh witnesses of the matter. The bench deferred the hearing for the date to be fixed by the Registrar’s Office.
