Barrister Zafarullah Khan of the Watan Party on Monday moved a petition before the Supreme Court, seeking immediate ban on activities of all the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in the country.
As per details, the petitioner submitted in apex’s court Lahore registry that there was no information about the NGOs working in Pakistan as to what were their purpose and the source of their funds and spending. He alleged that the working of the NGOs was dubious and they were responsible for lawlessness in Balochistan, Karachi and other parts of the country.
The petitioner also stated that there should be audit of the NGOs funds and expenditure. The federal government, the ministry and religious affairs and others are made respondents in this petition.
