KMC sets up first sales outlet for citizens

Karachi

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) opened its first sales outlet in the city on Saturday for providing fresh milk and meat to the citizens on subsidised rates.

KMC Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan inaugurated the outlet established under public-private partnership near Safari Park on University Road.

Fresh milk will be sold at Rs60 per litre, which is Rs10 less than the government-fixed rate, whereas meat will be sold at a 10 percent lower rate than that fixed by the government.

KMC’s outlet will be selling beef for Rs315 per kg as opposed to the government rate of Rs350, whereas mutton will be sold at Rs450 per kg instead of Rs500; customers will also be able to purchase minced meat. Fresh milk will be sold in specially manufactured plastic bottles.
