DESCRIBING the figures of the government’s corruption given by the Chairman NAB as mind-boggling and disastrous, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan has congratulated Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari on making such bold disclosures and asked him to also expose the big fish for the information and guidance of the masses.
Addressing JI workers from all over the country attending the central workshop at Mansoora on Friday, Munawwar Hasan said the NAB must also find out an effective mechanism to control the menace of the corruption.
He said the NAB had only been busy in the past in harassing governments’ opponents and building rulers’ image. As a result, the evil of the corruption crept into every institution and nobody tried to check that. It was due to this corruption that major national institutions such as Railways, Steel Mills, PIA, WAPDA and OGDC had collapsed and become a burden on national exchequer. He said Admiral Fasih Bokahri deserved appreciation for adopting a courageous policy, and said this had given a new hope to nation.
JI Ameer suggested the NAB to confiscate the properties of the plunderers of the public money, and said the money thus acquired should be used to pay off national debt. This will free nation and country from the clutches of the IMF and the World Bank and enable it to adopt self-reliance.
