Bomb-making factory found in Karachi

KARACHI: Rangers personnel unearthed a bomb-making factory and arrested 10 militants belonging to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during raids in two areas of Manghopir in the early hours of Saturday.

Sources said the raids were conducted in the Kanwari Colony and Sultanabad areas in collaboration with the Intelligence Wing of the Rangers, Sindh. Anti-terrorist squads of the Rangers also took part in the operation.

The discovery of the bomb-making factory came 10 days after two improvised explosive devices exploded and killed two people and wounded another 11 in the Peerabad area of Orangi Town. A similar IED blast had occurred in Abbas Town on November 18. Acting on a plan, some 2,000 paramilitary soldiers entered Manghopir and sealed off all entry and exit points.
