Rawalpindi: The Town Municipal Administrator (TMO) on Friday taking action on a report published in ‘The News’ titled ‘Encroachments along roadside create problems’ removed all Anti-Enforcement Cell staff from all sectors of the city. The concerned officer through a notification No-439 removed 54 officials, including four inspectors and six supervisors, from the Anti-Encroachment Cell.
Town Officer (Regulation) Aftab Ahmed Chohan, when contacted by ‘The News’, admitted the fact and said that higher authorities have removed all staff from Anti-Encroachment Cell and deployed a new staff.
Town Municipal Administrator Said Anwar Jappa, when contacted, said that he has removed all staff from Anti-Encroachment Cell and deployed a new staff. “New staff would perform in all city areas particularly in Sector A, B, C and D with immediate effect,” he said. He said that he will not spare anybody who does not perform well to remove encroachment mafia from the city.
PML-N MNA Shakil Awan appreciated action against staff of Anti-Encroachment Cell saying, “we want immediate removal of encroachments from all areas of the city.” All concerned departments are fully responsible for ever-increasing encroachments, he said.
