544th birthday celebrations of Guru Nanak conclude

WAH CANTT: The 544th birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak, the spiritual leader of Sikh religion, concluded with religious ritual Bhog at Gurduwara Siri Punja Sahab Hassan Abdal on Saturday.

The conclusion ceremony was attended by hundreds of Sikh pilgrims, including 2,300 from India, who recited their sacred book Guru and perform other rituals on the occasion. Deputy Secretary Shrines Faraz Abbas supervised the celebrations. Talking to media persons, leader of the Indian contingent Dr Jang Bahadur Singh expressed satisfaction over the maintenance of Sikh temples in Lahore, Punja Sahib, Hassan Abdal and other parts of the country. He said that they were keeping the message of love, peace and friendship and would never forget the warm reception given to them by Pakistanis.
