MANSEHRA: Hazara University (HU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Syed Sakhawat Shah here Monday performed the groundbreaking for construction of a building for the Faculty of Education at the varsity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Syed Sakhawat Shah said the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was providing financial assistance for the project to be built at a cost of $1.5 million.
Minister of State for Technical and Professional Education Sardar Shahjahan Yousaf, Senior Education Advisor USAID Mohammad Tariq Khan and others spoke on the occasion.
Dr Sakhawat Shah said the new teaching programme would not only build the capacity of the teachers, but also motivate the students to utilise their intellectual potential.
Sardar Shahjahan Yousaf emphasised the importance of female education that was poor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan compared to Punjab. He lauded the USAID for funding the project that would enhance the training capability and classroom performance of the teachers as they would be exposed to modern techniques.
Mohammad Tariq told the gathering the building of the new faculty would help improve the quality of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the USAID would provide $15 million in next two years to construct buildings for seven Faculties of Education across the country.
