LANDIKOTAL: A man was killed and four children sustained injuries when mortar shells hit two houses in Akakhel area in Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, tribal sources said on Monday.
The sources said that a mortar shell fired from unknown location hit the house of one Muhammad Idrees in Sheikhan area, killing him on the spot. Another mortar shell landed on the house of Marwat Khan in Zawa area of Akakhel and caused injuries to four children.
Rockets fired in Charsadda: Rivals fired four rockets at the house of their opponent in the limits of the Umarzai Police Station, sources said on Monday.
The sources said Kamran, Bilal and Babar targetted the house of their rival Naqeeb Khan with rockets due to some property dispute in the Kladhand area in Charsadda district. The projectiles caused partial damage to the house of Naqeeb Khan, sources said. However, no one was hurt in the incident.
Roadside bomb defused
in Mohmand Agency: The
security forces defused a
roadside bomb in Gand-
hab area in Mohmand Agency, official sources said on Monday.
The sources said that unknown persons had planted explosives on the Mail Road in Gandhab. The bomb disposal unit officials were sent to the area after locals informed the political administration about the remote-control device. The BDU officials defused the explosive device.
IED defused in Peshawar: The bomb disposal unit (BDU) of the Peshawar Police defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near a petrol pump on the Frontier Road on Monday.
An official of the Badaber Police Station said the IED was planted near a filling station in Sheikhan village close to Khyber Agency.
The bomb disposal unit experts were called and they defused the explosives before it could cause any harm.
