ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday clarified that in compliance with orders of the Supreme Court, the NAB made an effort to reconcile the accounts of Karkey based on available record.
The clarification was made with reference to the advertisement published in national dailies by Turkish Power Company KARKEY Karadeniz Elektrik Uretim A S in which it said, “Pursuant to the honourable Supreme Court decision, we had in good faith cooperated for 7 months during the inquiries and investigations of NAB, at the end of which NAB has concluded
the process to its satisfaction and issued a No Objection Certificate on 11th October 2012”.
The reconciliation processed by the NAB was contingent upon the facts that no further claims by any government organisation were made against Karkey and also subject to the final decision of the Supreme Court, the official statement added.
