Mehar may form forward bloc in PML-Q

Karachi

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Sindh President Ghous Bux Mehar and his likeminded legislators of the Provincial Assembly were in the process of forming a forward bloc, well-placed sources told The News.

Disgruntled members were reported to have told PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat that his way of leading the party had turned it into a personal league. They alleged that senior members of the party were being completely ignored.

The sacking of Mehar from the post of federal minster for privatisation by the prime minister on Friday further deepened the conflict between him (Mehar) and the PML-Q chief. Mehar has reportedly decided to join either the PML-N or F.

The differences that emerged between Mehar and Shujaat were over the controversial Sindh People’s Local Government System 2012. Mehar told his party chief that he would be unable to face his constituents as the rights of the people were being subjugated by the adoption of the new local government system. However, Shujaat ignored his concerns.
