Entering and exiting your home is
something that is taken for granted each and every day. You leave in the
morning, re-enter later in the day, maybe exit again sometime after
dinner, re-enter yet again at night… and if you've got dogs God only
knows how many times you're in and out that front, back or side door
every single day! How many of you take a good long look at your entryway
during any one of those uses? Then again, you see it all the time. What
is there to look at, right?
A sense of pride
Take a good long look at those doors again. What do people
see when the go in and out of your humble abode (or not so humble
depending on your idea of that whole grand entrance thing)? Do you have
one of those old metal doors on the front of your house? Has it been
kicked, propped, slammed and shoved until it's all dented and bent?
Nice. Very pretty! A front door says a lot not only about who lives
there but gives a huge first impression.
Those who take the back road…
… or the back door. If you are fortunate enough to have an area off
your back porch in which to grill, picnic, party or simply sip a morning
cup of coffee chances are your friends and neighbors are more than
familiar with your patio doors. So how about it? What do those poor old
sliders say about you and your decorating sense? How many greasy
barbeque fingerprints ‘embellish' that door? Nice. Very appetizing.
Time to shake it up a bit!
Sliding patio doors can be dressed up and comprised of more than just
wood, glass, nuts and bolts. You're probably going to spend money on
window treatments anyways. What if you just went ahead and had internal
mini blinds installed? Imagine it… blinds with no dusting and never
having to clean those greasy, barbeque finger prints off of each and
every slat.
A barely detectable slope in the sill will help
prevent water build up it the track which will in turn keep that
specially treated stainless steel track operating smoothly as the day it
was installed. Exclusive water treating will also help keep cold, heat
and moisture out of your home. But because nothing lasts forever
(especially with guys and kids slamming in and out several times a day)
wouldn't it be great if the working parts were easily replaced? They're
out there.
Dress up your home without a complete overhaul by dressing out your doors!
