If you have liquid seasoning spills, it is important that you handle it properly and that you are careful to avoid it from getting spilled. This is because it can create a mess, particularly if you spill it all over your carpet. Liquid seasoning can cause a dark, ugly stain on the carpet if you inadvertently spill it.
If ever you have this kind of problem in your home, it can be really tough and frustrating. Luckily, I have prepared a guide that you can use in this very situation. Check out the steps below on what you should do to clean up liquid seasoning spills on your carpet.
- Start off by using a clean sponge to absorb the spilled liquid seasoning on your carpet. Getting the excess liquid out of the carpet fibers is important to avoid the spill from seeping deeper and causing a more troublesome stain.
- Next, get a cotton ball and then apply some isoprophyl rubbing alcohol on it. Then, slowly dab the stain on your carpet which is caused by the liquid seasoning spill. Do this repeatedly until the cotton ball is completely dried up.
- The isoprophyl alcohol will help remove some of the liquid seasoning stain but it won't remove it entirely. For that, you would need to use a stronger cleaning solution. You can utilize some items in your home to make a cleaning solution of your own. Just mix a teaspoon of household ammonia with a cup of warm water and you will produce a very effective cleaning solution.
- Apply some of the cleaning solution you have made onto the liquid seasoning stain. Let it set for a couple of minutes and then use a paper towel to slowly blot the area. This will gradually remove the stain until your carpet is looking like brand new. It may take a while but as you continue doing this step, you will see noticeable improvement which means that the process is working.
- The last step that you would need to accomplish is to get a cup of water and pour it onto the stained area of the carpet. Then, dry it completely with some clean towels or rags. This will flush out any residue that could get left behind on your carpet. That way, you can prevent any build-up of residue that can harm your carpet.
