The Chandigarh College of Hospitality (CCH) is one of the most renowned colleges of Punjab. It was established in 2001 and has gained a lot of reputation in the past 11 years of its service. The college is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), and is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Courses offered
CCH offers three courses to the students namely, Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, B.Sc. in Airline Tourism and Hospitality Management and B.Sc. in Hotel Management in Catering Technology. Each course is highly recommended for students who want to make a career in this field. B.Sc. is a three year course while the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a four year course.
The students are given career counseling along with a mentoring throughout. Each student is allotted a mentor for the entire program that will guide the student and help him in his personal growth. Apart from this, the mentor also helps the student to realize the career he will excel in from the many career options available to him.
Job opportunities
The students of CCH after their graduation can take of many kinds of jobs from being a faculty in the Hotel Management industry to being an entrepreneur. Other job opportunities which are open for the graduates of CCH are jobs of catering executives in Hotels, Marketing and Sales executives in hotels, executives in tourism development corporations and resorts etc.
Admissions
The admission procedure is a simple one which is based on the marks obtained by the applicant in the 10+2 level. There is generally a minimum criterion of 50% marks in the exam else the application might not be considered as valid.
Apart from studies
Apart from the classroom courses, CCH ensures that its students get a taste of the industry before they venture out on their own. They have made it mandatory for all students to go through a training period in their last but final year. To ensure this, CCH has tied up with the HR Department of many leading hotels like the Radisson Gurgaon, The LaLit New Delhi, Taj Lake Palace Udaipur, Imperial Delhi and many more such hotels.
Extra-curricular activities
Project PURE is one of the most important projects of the CCH where they provide training to the road side eateries to upgrade their hygiene, cleanliness, food quality etc. Apart from this they also perform many CSR activities like formation of a charitable school for under privileged children, donations of computers, beautification of allotted areas in the city etc.
The Chandigarh College of Hospitality has all the facilities that a student might need during his three/four year course in the college. The labs and the training centers are well equipped with the latest technology equipment. There is even a transport facility available which picks up and drops students and faculties to certain points in the city. Basically the institute ensures that the students stay comfortably and study and perform to the best of their capabilities.
