CM for recording speeches in mosques, Imambargahs

CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that all arrangements for maintaining law and order have been completed for Muharram. He said that a separate security plan for every district and divisions had been evolved and control rooms had been set up at district, division and provincial levels. He sought implementation of the security plan evolved for the purpose.

Presiding over a meeting to review security arrangements during Muharram at Model Town on Friday, he said the ministers should review security arrangements by visiting districts and divisions and submit a report on a daily basis to the cabinet committee, monitoring the security arrangements. Shahbaz said that it was our national responsibility to promote brotherhood and maintain law and order during Ashura. He said respect of Muharram was obligatory to all Muslims and there had to be peace in the society by unity among the Muslims in the real sense.

He said the country was passing through a very critical situation and facing serious challenges like terrorism and extremism and unity and solidarity were needed in the society. The CM urged the Ulema should to give lesson of brotherhood, tolerance and unity in their sermons and directed the authorities concerned to take action against those who made provocative speeches without any discrimination. He ordered that arrangements for recording the speeches to be delivered in mosques, Imambargahs and Majalis be made.

The chief minister said that all kind of literature containing provocative material be forfeited and misuse of loudspeakers be stopped. He further directed that all the banners containing provocative material be immediately removed and the ban on wall-chalking should be implemented strictly.

While directing to ensure generators and streetlights on the routes of processions and Majalis, he said that there should be strict vigilance of Majalis and processions. He said that a security plan around Azadari processions be implemented and a vigilant eye be kept on suspects.

Senior Advisor Zulfiqar Khosa, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, ministers Rana Sanaullah, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, the chief secretary and others officials attended the meeting.
