The arithmetic is considered as the branch of math which deals with the operations of counting the numbers. The study of arithmetic involves the study about the volume of the object. There are four basic arithmetic operations are present to add, subtract, multiply and divide the numbers. Here in this article we are going to see about these basic arithmetic operations.
Basic Arithmetic Operations
Basic operations:
The basic arithmetic operations are given as,
Addition
Subtraction
Multiplication
Division
Addition:
This is the one of the basic arithmetic operation. This is considered as the easiest way to add the two numbers. The addition may be done to the numbers with the infinite series. The addition exhibit the property of associative and commutative. When the addition process is done repeatedly then it is said as summation of the numbers. The addition is identified by using the sign "+".
Subtraction:
This is the operation which finds the difference between the given two numbers. This is also one of the basic operations. There are two terms used in subtraction they are minuend and subtrahend. Where minuend is the term to be subtracted and subtrahend is the term which subtracts the minuend. When the value of the minuend is greatest then the result is positive. When the value of the subtrahend is greatest then the value is negative.
Multiplication:
This is the operation which finds out the product of the two numbers. The name of the two numbers are multipliers and also the multiplicand. Multiplication is also considered as the basic arithmetic operation. The multiplication also exhibits the properties of commutative and associative. The multiplication also exhibits the identity property and also the inverse property.
Division:
This division is considered as the inverse operation of the multiplication. There are two terms used in division dividend and also the divisor. The dividend is the term to be divided and the divisor is the term which is used to divide the number. Division can or cannot attain the property of associative and commutative.
