PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and Member National Assembly Maulana Attaur Rehman on Sunday said all the political parities wanted to enter into electoral alliance with his party due to its increasing popularity among the people.
Briefing reporters here at the conclusion of the two-day meeting of the JUI-F provincial general council, he said the JUI-F was yet to make the decision about making an electoral alliance or have seat-to-seat adjustment with other political parties.
“Our leadership has not contacted any other party for the electoral alliance or seat-to-seat adjustment. Several parties, including the ANP, have expressed the wish to make alliance with the JUI-F,” Attaur Rehman claimed.
He said that the JUI-F and other religio-political parties would welcome the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), if its leaders wanted to join the alliance.He said the JUI-F leaders had decided to launch a drive in the province in the first week of January to reach out to the voters in connection with the election campaign.
“We have divided Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into four zones for this purpose,” he said. About the situation in tribal areas, he said that a grand jirga of tribal elders would be held on December 16 at Tehmash Khan Stadium, Peshawar. He informed that the party would also organise a big conference at Shergarh in Mardan district on December 9.
