The police officers, investigating the eunuchs looting case, have found the registration number of the Toyota Corolla car used in the offence fake, police sources said on Thursday.
“The robbers used a fake number plate to loot the eunuchs, as the car, bearing registration number IDN-7574, was owned by a female government officer,” sources said. According to sources, one of the suspects, Iqbal, belonged to Rawalpindi, while the remaining three — Yamin, Jamil and Pappu — were residents of Peshawar.
Sources said that the gangsters specially came from Peshawar to hit Akri. Almas Bobby, leader of eunuchs, told the media that the gangsters reached the Shehnai Shadi Hall during last moments of the function. They started waiting for Akri and chased her car when she left for Islamabad.
Five gunmen looted eunuchs in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town Police Station and took away Rs3.2 million after holding them at gunpoint when they were heading towards their home after attending a birthday ceremony in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The ceremony was arranged by the community on the occasion of birthday of a eunuch, Akri, at the Shehnai Shadi Hall, located in Commercial Market, Rawalpindi, in front of the New Town Police Station on Tuesday night and eunuchs from throughout the country attended the ceremony.
