Fifteen persons, including two women and a minor girl, were killed and 25 others sustained injuries when a bus collided with a container on the Indus Highway on Saturday.
A police official at the Banda Daud Shah Police Station said that a bus carrying passengers was on its way to Peshawar from Karachi when it rammed into a container near Speena Banda village early in the day.
The patrolling party of the police shifted the bodies and injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Karak. Hospital sources said 15 persons were killed in the mishap. They were identified as Sartaj and Muhammad Tufail belonging to Nowshera, Anwar Ali and Shakeel Khan from Swabi, Mustanbeera, wife of Muhammad Islam and Hunar Shah, residents of Karachi, Fawad and Fatima, residents of Khairpur, Nasir Hussain, and his two sons Sani and Arbaz, from Swabi, Khursheed Ali, resident of Karachi, Dawa Khan, Ghanimat Bibi and her young daughter, also from Swabi.
The sources said that some of the injured were shifted to the hospitals in Peshawar owing to their serious condition.
