Stand by me to defeat corruption, says Imran

KHIPRO: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan Sunday said if the nation stood by him he could defeat the crocodiles and cleanse the system of corruption that was rampant everywhere in the country.

Addressing a public meeting at a high school in Khipro, Sanghar district, Imran said he had come with a programme of political change and hoped that the people, especially youths, would support him.

“All the cities, towns and roads give the look of ‘remains of ancient towns’ as the corrupt bureaucracy and politicians have plundered billions of rupees meant for development. We want accountability of these corrupt bureaucrats and politicians so as to rid the country of corruption.”

He lamented that the poor people of Khipro town and surrounding areas were running from pillar to post for jobs and getting the CNICs. “Sixty-year old women are being asked to produce birth, marriage and residential certificates and they are not issued CNIC on payment of Rs1,000,” Imran lamented.

He said CNIC was the basic right of citizens and its issuance was the state responsibility. He alleged that advisors and officers were being appointed to various posts on payment of bribe.
