MANDI BAHAUDDIN: People are being imported by those who plundered the country to delay polls, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He asked the masses to thwart those who had arrived in the country to implement a foreign agenda.
Speaking at a big public meeting at the Quaid-e-Azam Ground in Mandi Bahauddin here on Monday, the CM advised the masses to offer prayers behind Mullahs, but never vote them in as some of them were following the agenda of others. No corruption against him has ever been proved and if a single penny of corruption is proved against him, he will quit politics, the CM added. The Pak Army is the defender of the frontiers and it will safeguard the Constitution and never let anybody derail democracy.
Our Lahore correspondent adds: Shahbaz said corruption and corrupt elements would be eliminated. The CM said the politics of corruption of the PPP and PML-Q would be buried forever and added those who looted the country now wanted that elections to be postponed. He said elections on time were vital for stability and urged the masses to block those who wanted to mortgage Pakistan by executing the agenda of others. The CM said a flyover would be constructed at the railway crossing in Mandi Bahauddin city and the construction of a road linking the city with the motorway would start soon. He promised that after winning the elections Mandi Bahauddin would be made into an industrial city like Faisalabad. The CM alleged that Zardari and his cronies had committed corruption of billions of rupees in the country and pushed the nation into darkness. He said the corrupt wanted to continue their programme of looting and plundering through the postponement of elections. “We will foil their nefarious designs with the power of the people. The Punjab government took concrete measures to eliminate corruption and ensure transparent completion of development projects,” the CM said. He said Mian Nawaz Sharif carried out six nuclear tests against the five nuclear tests of India despite pressure from America and made the defence of Pakistan invincible. He said Pakistan would be made a great country through hard work, sincerity and honesty and it would be made a welfare state. The CM said the rulers in Islamabad were frightened due to the thumping victory of the PML-N in the by-elections and hoped candidates of the PML-N would win the next general elections with an overwhelming majority. The CM said a Danish School would be set up in Mandi Bahauddin. “There is a ‘Big Khan Sahib’ who during the dengue outbreak in Punjab had gone to London and named us as the ‘Dengue Brothers’. He thanked Almighty Allah “who made our efforts fruitful against the outbreak of dengue,” the he said. Shahbaz inaugurated Canal View Public Park in Mandi Bahauddin which was constructed at a cost of Rs 12 million. The CM inaugurated the 17-km long Chalianwala Road at Kast Sara Chowk constructed at a cost of Rs 121 million. The CM also inaugurated a 20-bed children’s hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 54 million. Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, PML-N leaders Dewan Mushtaq and a large number of PML-N workers were also present at the occasion.
