A middle aged man was murdered in the Sohrab Goth police limits on Sunday.
Raja Mansif, 50, was attacked by some unidentified people with a shovel near Gulshan-e-Maymar situated in Block-P while he was going towards his farmhouse. One of the passers-by informed the police who during search found his CNIC by which his identity was confirmed as Raja Mansif.
SHO Sohrab Goth said that Mansif was a cook by profession and was the resident of New Karachi.
The SHO said that this murder was due to an old enmity.
Police van attacked
Four suspects threw a hand grenade on a police mobile van in the Pirabad police limits on Sunday. Riding two motorcycles they hurled a hand grenade on the police mobile van near Banaras which did not explode.
SHO Pirabad Ashfaq Baloch told The News that the police on snap checking saw the motorcycle riders and signalled them to stop but they fled. No cops were injured in the incident.
