KP minister directs officials to highlight govt’s achievements

PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday directed the authorities of his department to carry out a full-fledged special campaign for making the general public aware of the achievements and successes of the government.

Chairing a meeting, he said that after 18th Amendment a new Pakistan with strong federating units had emerged on the global map. “The government’s performance remained remarkable despite terrorism and militancy,” the minister said.

Besides others, Secretary Information Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Additional Secretary Information Faridullah Khan, Director Information Shoaibuddin and Station Director Radio Pakhtunkhwa Zabita Khan Momand attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the salient features of the proposed campaign and decided that each and every mean of publicity including print and electronic media and cellular service would be availed for proper propagation of the government’s five-year performance. It was also decided that a series of press briefings by the concerned ministers and administrative secretaries of each nation-building department would be initiated on weekly basis from December 7.

Mian Iftikhar said the government had taken special initiatives including launching mega projects, particularly in the energy and power, education, law and order, finance, industry, health, irrigation and public health engineering sectors.
