Ijaz rules out differences with DPC

LAHORE

The representatives of Pakistan Ulema Council, Tanzeem-e-Islami and PML (Zia), who are members of Difa-e-Pakistan Council, could not attend the Difa-e-Pakistan Council march owing to different reasons.

The PML (Zia) President Ijazul Haq was not seen in the march and his absence was noticed among political and religious circles. However, talking with The News Ijazul Haq stated that he could not attend it owing to the death of his close relative and he was in Sialkot to attend his funeral. He strongly dispelled the impression that he had any differences with Difa-e-Pakistan Council leadership. He stated there was no question of having differences with anyone who was working for the betterment of Pakistan. The other two groups which did not have representation in Difa-e-Pakistan Council march included Pakistan Ulema Council led by Dr Tahir Ashrafi. Nevertheless, the representatives of Tanzeem-e-Islami of late Dr Israr claimed that their workers had attended the march and they had no disagreement with DPC leadership.
