Girl dies of excessive dose

LAHORE

A 17-year-old girl died of overdose of abortion pills in the Shalimar area on Sunday.

The girl (A) was resident of Farooq Park. It was reported that she had relations with a local, Rizwan Ali, who gave her abortion pills the girl used them in a huge quantity and died. Police have registered a case against Rizwan and sent the body to morgue for autopsy.

FOUR BODIES FOUND: Township police found the body of a man on Sunday.

Police said the man, yet to be identified, was found lying unconscious on College Road. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Bhatti Gate, Lower Mall and Kahna police found each body from their jurisdictions. Police claimed that these three people were addicts who apparently died of cold weather. The bodies have shifted to morgue.

KILLED: A cyclist was killed by a speeding car in the Raiwind City area on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Asghar, 45. Police said the victim was on his way on a cycle when a rashly driven car hit and injured him. He was removed to hospital where he expired.

Meanwhile, one Iqbal Ahmad expired in a local hospital, two days after he was injured in a road accident in the Shadbagh area.

SECURITY: Lahore police have tightened the security of the provincial metropolis following a terrorist attack at Peshawar airport. Police also arrested dozens of suspects from various parts of the city, including Raiwind, Naulakha, Defence, Kahna, Iqbal Town, Badami Bagh and Shahdara.

ARRESTED: Mustafabad police arrested 25 boys from snooker clubs and Sheesha cafes on Sunday. The arrested persons included Suhail, Amir, Fiaz and Ahsan. Police also seized hookahs and tobacco from the spots. Meanwhile, Naseerabad police arrested a drug pusher, Boota Masih alias Goga.

Robbers arrested: Gulshan Ravi police have arrested two accused robbers and seized loot and weapons. The arrested accused, identified as Rizwan Ali and Umar, have confessed to 20 such crimes in various parts of the city. The Operations DIG has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police team.
