LAHORE
PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan has long-standing economic and trade relations with Norway and the help and assistance extended by Norwegian government to the flood victims of Pakistan in 2010 is highly valued by the Pakistani people.
He was talking to Ambassador of Norway Cecile Landsverk who called on him in Raiwind on Friday. Nawaz said there was a vast scope of cooperation between Pakistan and Norway in governance, education, health and other sectors. He said exports of cotton, textile and leather from Pakistan to Norway should be increased.
He said Pakistan could benefit from Norway in overcoming its energy crisis. The Norwegian ambassador informed Nawaz that his country had made large investment in telecommunication sector in Pakistan. She said Norway was the third biggest exporter of gas in the world, fifth in oil and sixth in hydro power.
