The
Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), along with the Citizens Police Liaison
Committee, managed to recover an abducted boy on Wednesday after an
exchange of fire with his kidnappers.
The police claimed to have recovered two Kalashnikovs, TT pistols and several bullets.

AVCC Niaz Khosa told The News that 14-year-old Haris was going to buy
bread on October 24 in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police area when armed men
kidnapped him.
The kidnappers called Haris’ family and asked them for a hefty ransom of Rs1.5 million.
The
boy’s relatives initially accepted the amount, but later approached the
police and special teams were formed based on the information provided
by them and deployed in District East.
CPLC officials
said that calls were coming from the Sohrab Goth police limits and the
police saw suspicious activity at a house situated in the Ayub Goth of
the area.
Cops in civvies raided the house along with a
team of the CPLC and the suspects inside the house opened fire the
moment they saw the police. The law enforcers retaliated and managed to
arrest two of the kidnappers, while a third one escaped. The police also
arrested two women from the house.
During the initial interrogation, the accused disclosed that their names were Danish and Daniyal.
