Indian team visits Lahore Fort, Badshahi mosque


LAHORE: Singh Badal and his delegation visited the Lahore Fort, Badshahi mosque, Gurdwara Dera Sahib and Samadhi Ranjeet Singh here on Wednesday. When Deputy Chief Minister of Indian Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal and his delegation reached these historical places, they were received by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri.

Sukhbir Singh Badal and the Indian delegation highly appreciated the beauty of Shishmahal. The Indian delegation was also conducted on a tour of the Badshahi mosque.

The members of the delegation appreciated the Islamic architecture of the Badshahi mosque and also recorded their impressions in the visitors book. Later, Sukhbir Singh Badal and his delegation went to Gurdwara Dera Sahib.

The Indian delegation also saw the Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh and lauded the efforts of the government for the maintenance and conservation of historical places.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said that he was very pleased to see the ancient culture and lifestyle of Lahore.

He said that besides other rulers, Lahore also had the imprints of Sikh ruler Ranjeet Singh which were of deep veneration for the Sikh community.
