CID arrests ‘target killer’

Karachi

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Monday arrested a suspected targeted killer for his alleged involvement in more than 30 murder cases.

Superintendent CID Mazhar Mashawani told The News that a house was raided in the Qasba Colony after a tip informed the police that a man suspected of the murders of Qari Hafeez and Mufti Ijaz was hiding in the area.

Mashwani conducted the raid and managed to arrest the suspect following a brief encounter. The man was identified as Abid and the police recovered two TT pistols from his possession.

In the initial interrogation, the suspect confessed to his involvement in more than 30 cases of murder.
