How to use Facebook to market your product
You finally made your dream come true! You have your own product that really works. Great for you! You are an entrepreneur of the 21st century. But don't rest on your laurels just yet. You need to level up. What's that, you say? You need to let the whole world know about your great product … without spending money yet. Really? Is there such a thing? But of course! You've heard of Facebook, haven't you? In fact, you have your own profile, right? So why not create a profile for your product and have more people know about its greatness? Here are four simple tips you need to do to start generating marketing interest through Facebook on your fantastic product.
Step 1: Like anybody else, the first thing that you will need to do is to create a profile for your product. Put your best foot forward. Use your products' name. That's the best way to put it out in the market. Choose a photo that showcases the uniqueness and individuality of your product. You'll want a picture that touches the human side. Sure, professional images are beautiful if you have the money to do so but be sure this reaches out to your audience. Or a personal photo will do, too. So long as this photo reaches out and speaks to us, then you've got a winner. After all, Facebook is a place where everybody appreciates the rawness of everything. So, don't be shy. Use your own candid shot of your product. Add a catch phrase while you're at it. Think of something that will catch YOUR attention. Remember Nike's commercial "Just Do It"? Make it short and simple. Trust me, everybody will remember your product.
Step 2: You will then need to add friends. Don't wait for response to just happen. The initiative will have to come from you. It's not enough to just add your existing friends. You'll need interaction from people you don't know. How do you do this? Simple. You do this by adding friends of friends. There's nothing invasive about that, too. They still have the option of saying yes or no to your request. Hence, we still go back to step 1. With an interesting photo and catch phrase, their interest will be piqued and before you know it, your product will be generating interest. Just so you know, Facebook does have a policy of fielding any person or page that adds on too many people at one time. So, be careful with your numbers. A maximum of 50 people added daily should be enough. More than this and your free marketing might be scrapped for good.
Step 3: Make your wall relevant. What does this mean? Making a profile page is not enough. You will have to follow suit by interrelating with the members of your product's profile. Comment on their posts, SO LONG AS, this is connected to your product. A personal connection is always appreciated especially when it's connected to your product. You can only do this if you check your page daily and often. No movement on your page will mean you are not interested to pursue this to a higher level. Just be very careful to not fall into the pit trap of sending junk mail or unsolicited advise to your list of friends on unrelated materials otherwise, they might just remove you from that list.
